Kate Parker, is a 17 year old senior living in Texas. She's on the swim team, has two incredible best friends, and a passion for saving animals.

He claims he’s a foreign exchange student from Spain who is attending the local University—Kate knows there’s more to his story than that. She works hard to discover who he is—what he is.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

"His words, laced with a Spanish accent, fell pleasantly against her ears." (quote)

First of all, I was very excited to read this book!

I love the book cover! I have a tendency to always applaud the author and the artist for their amazing accomplishments on the book covers because I just find them amazing! It always interests me how creative artists are to create such a beautiful book cover because I honestly think that it's just as hard to create a book cover as it is to write a book. Okay okay before you guys say WHAT DID SHE REALLY SAY THAT? know that book covers have to connect to the book in some way for it to work and I honestly feel that that is hard to accomplish. But my point is that this book cover is honestly one of the best ones that I've seen since it looks to me like watercolor and the forest really goes along with book as it does in this book cover.

I had so many emotions while reading this book, such as excitement, thrill, and eagerness, I thought that this book was very interesting and I don't find many books interesting which gives it a big thumbs up! Also the fact on how well thought out this book was, was amazing, I absolutely loved the book.
I thought that Kate was a very likable person and she is very relatable, usually book characters aren't relatable at all (since I'm nowhere near as interesting as them haha), but I found Kate as if she were an actual human being. I enjoyed how the author incorporated the passion that Kate had for animals because I for one love any, well most types of animals. The author also showed us that not everyone is perfect and in this case she just made the character Kate even more relatable, Kate in this story was very interesting and I just loved reading the story in her perspective.

I was also iffy about Lucas because he sounded too perfect and nobody is that perfect. He was definitely too good to be real since everything about him sounded good. In the end I didn't really like him, but that's just me so.......

Ugh Stephen.....he was obviously acting weird when he first heard about Lucas, but he got too weird and to me that was kind of scary and creepy. I always thought that Stephen just hated the guy to the core, but I never thought that he was such a creeper or a psychotic person.

All in all I really enjoyed this book because everytime I stopped I was left wanting more. This book was full of thrills and if you know me I just love and can't get enough of thrills! I am also currently in a romance phase so this book definitely fit my appetite. This book has incorporated many genres that I enjoy and I just couldn't get enough of it. One thing I enjoyed mostly was how the author built up on a character so that her reader would just wonder "Well what really is going on?.

I think that that is one of the biggest factors needed to be in books because then it leaves readers wanting more and it also develops the character while it intrigues the readers, so I would love to applaud the author on that note. Another thing that I would like to applaud the author on is how beautifully and thought out this book was even though it was her first YA book.

This is one great debut novel!
