Cute. This book was straight up cute! This story was well thought out and I just loved it completely. Anna was adorable because I loved how detailed the author explained her, I could just imagine her in my brain and I could tell that she was smart, intelligent, and beautiful. St. Clair sounded seemed like a pretty cool guy too and they seemed to match really well that got me really interested.

All in all this book was amazeballs and I really enjoyed it so I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did!!

Two years before Beatrice Prior made her choice, the sixteen-year-old son of Abnegation’s faction leader did the same. Tobias’s transfer to Dauntless is a chance to begin again. Here, he will not be called the name his parents gave him. Here, he will not let fear turn him into a cowering child.

Newly christened “Four,” he discovers during initiation that he will succeed in Dauntless. Initiation is only the beginning, though; Four must claim his place in the Dauntless hierarchy. His decisions will affect future initiates as well as uncover secrets that could threaten his own future—and the future of the entire faction system.

Two years later, Four is poised to take action, but the course is still unclear. The first new initiate who jumps into the net might change all that. With her, the way to righting their world might become clear. With her, it might become possible to be Tobias once again.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth comes a companion volume to the worldwide bestselling DIVERGENT series, told from the per-spective of the immensely popular character Tobias. The four pieces included here—THE TRANSFER, THE INITIATE, THE SON, and THE TRAITOR—plus three additional exclusive scenes, give readers an electrifying glimpse into the history and heart of Tobias, and set the stage for the epic saga of the DIVERGENT trilogy.

Thrilled and Intrigued. I really liked this book because I got to read it from Tobias's point of view and it was pretty interesting. I liked how his view was different and how I got a different feel as I read this book. Throughout these short stories I was intrigued in all of them and I still kept on thinking how interesting it was to read from Tobias's point of view! I would recommend this book to anyone if they loved the Divergent series as much as I did!

Surprises abound and sparks ignite in the highly anticipated, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door

Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To:
- find the liquor cabinet blindfolded
- need a liver transplant
- drive his car into a house

Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To:
- well, not date her little brother’s baggage-burdened best friend, for starters.

For Tim, it wouldn’t be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the “smart” choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard.

Then the unexpected consequences of Tim’s wild days come back to shock him. He finds himself in a situation that isn’t all it appears to be, that he never could have predicted . . . but maybe should have.

And Alice is caught in the middle.

Told in Tim’s and Alice’s distinctive, disarming, entirely compelling voices, this return to the world of My Life Next Door is a story about failing first, trying again, and having to decide whether to risk it all once more.

Fascinated. I really enjoyed this story because this isn't your typical romance story, this story actually has a lot of twists which made me even more interested and fascinated. I couldn't stop reading this book because it was so interesting. If you like a romance story that takes all the effort you have in you to become true, then this book would be for you!

Doodle Review: Three Emotions While Reading The Selection by Kiera Cass

[ It's Al Here!]

title: The Selection (#1)
author: Kiera Cass
genre: Romance | Science Fiction
pages:
publisher: Harper Teens

more: Goodreads

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Interest. I was really eager to find out what was going to happen next! I loved the Selection because it made me want more after reading the first book. I was interested to find out what was going to happen next because so many things happened in one book and it was so interesting when something happened (I like the drama in books and romance). I usually don't find a lot of books so interesting that makes me wanting more but this book really caught my eye.

Love.  I absolutely loved most of the characters because they had such unique and fun personalities that made me feel that these things were actually happening in real life. I especially liked America because she isn't really scared of anything and I loved how she is so brave which is great characteristic. I loved the plot as well because it's a great love story and it's so fun and interesting as well.

Angry. At some parts in the book it was just so irritating because some of the characters were a pain in the butt. They were so rude, obnoxious, crazy, and a bunch of other things I can't describe. As much as I loved America and some other characters some of the characters were actually really annoying and rude (Celeste). All in all it was a great book except for some annoying characters, but the plot was beautifully written.

Doodle Review: Two Emotions Regarding My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzptrick

Monday, October 12, 2015

[ It's Al Here!]

title: My Life Next Door
author: Huntley Fitzpatrick
publisher: Dial Books for Younger Readers
genre: Romance | Contemporary

more: Goodreads

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

Excited. I was so excited and thrilled to find out what was going to happen next because it was so interesting and romantic. I loved how they met each other and how they knew that they were meant to be! I thought that was so romantic and cute because not everyone can get true love because not everyone has true love so I really enjoyed reading this book.

Irritated. I did not like how Samantha’s mother just couldn’t accept the Garretts and to me that was irritating, because she should support her daughter’s choice and I was really irritated at her for the whole book. I know parents always want to protect their children but I think that her mother should really just respect her decision because she is old enough to make her life decisions.

Doodle Review: Three Words to Describe All the Rage by Courtney Summers

Friday, October 02, 2015
[ It's Rin Here! ]

title: All the Rage
author: Courtney Summers
publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Issue: Bullying, Rape

more: Goodreads

The sheriff’s son, Kellan Turner, is not the golden boy everyone thinks he is, and Romy Grey knows that for a fact. Because no one wants to believe a girl from the wrong side of town, the truth about him has cost her everything—friends, family, and her community. Branded a liar and bullied relentlessly by a group of kids she used to hang out with, Romy’s only refuge is the diner where she works outside of town. No one knows her name or her past there; she can finally be anonymous. But when a girl with ties to both Romy and Kellan goes missing after a party, and news of him assaulting another girl in a town close by gets out, Romy must decide whether she wants to fight or carry the burden of knowing more girls could get hurt if she doesn’t speak up. Nobody believed her the first time—and they certainly won’t now — but the cost of her silence might be more than she can bear. With a shocking conclusion and writing that will absolutely knock you out, All the Rage examines the shame and silence inflicted upon young women after an act of sexual violence, forcing us to ask ourselves: In a culture that refuses to protect its young girls, how can they survive?

Confusing. This one was one of the "this was on me, not you" sort of points. I think that in general, there was absolutely nothing confusing about this book (maybe to some), but my brain just didn't seem to connect with the events that were happening. It wasn't always confusing. Once I got to the climax, I my eyes and my mind were wide awake and active enough to be feelings a whole ton of emotions. I couldn't separate the past from the present and I was running in circles and re-reading pages just to try and figure out if this was the past or if I was reading the current active events. After awhile I did understand what was happening and enjoyed and was inspired by this read through and through from there on.

Angering. I honestly know that I was equally angry at the way Romy was treated and as a victim who had to suffer not only from her attack, but from the scrutiny of the people of whom she lives with and once lived somewhat peacefully with in a somewhat peaceful life and the way she acted. She never really got her own peace from her attack(s) and when she was hurt another time, she chose to not fully defend herself. She did however speak some words about what had happened on the road and the party, but other than that, I read silence coming from her part after she realized that she was on a road and that her clothes were messy. She didn't fight the second time around, and I could not completely blame her after the way she was treated by other people. Anger is an emotion that drives me, and it drove me to read and continue to rage about the words that were being thrown around precariously.

True. I hate how much this story is true in so many different ways. I hate how some people have more power over others and how they words are believed while the other persons is thrown away like garbage and was never really listened to. These people chose to believe the Sheriff's son. Why? Because he was the Sheriff's son, he is popular, and is good looking and hot. Why is looks thrown over words? Why is his position they only key that caused the loss in Romy's freedom of speech and freedom to be a person; to be herself. Why is that taken away? Why must she hide from her pain and her emotional and mental torture to keep at least a small part of herself whole.
